In order for patients to qualify for the ATR grant, certain criteria must be met:

Patient must be eighteen years of age or older and have a history of addiction.
The annual income of the patient must be below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. (For reference, a household of one must make less than $24,120 to qualify, as of 2017.)
Patient must live in a jurisdiction which provides ATR programs.

Upon approval, patients have ninety days to choose a qualifying program. While the scope of care is wide, it is important to check with each provider to see that they will accept an ATR voucher as a method of payment.
