Men's Alcohol & Drug Addiction Treatment Centers In Alaska

The male population in Alaska continues to face significant and alarming rates of substance abuse and addiction to drugs and alcohol.

The Alaska Board of Mental Health reports that more than 3,600 men receive treatment for alcohol per year, versus just under 2,400 women. The unique and specific psychological issues that drive substance use disorder in males may be more effectively treated through specialized gender-specific treatment.

Alaska offers many alcohol and drug rehab programs to address the unique care needs of the state’s male population, including but not limited to:

• Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation
• Men’s STAG Group
• Gastineau Human Services

These programs utilize in-depth, one-on-one counseling; group therapy and a variety of other supplemental therapies to help Alaska’s male SUD sufferers address the root causes and sustaining factors associated with their drug or alcohol abuse.

Many of these program offer family therapy to help men reintegrate themselves back into their family dynamics as they begin to complete their program and enter long-term recovery.
