Drug-Sniffing Dogs Offered to Concerned Parents
October 22nd, 2010
Every parent has the concern that their children are partaking in illegal drugs behind their backs. It would be difficult to tell whether or not the children are lying on the subject, but in Baltimore, a way has been presented to remedy this.
A Maryland-based non-profit group, known as Dogs Finding Drugs, has offered a rental service for highly trained dogs that would sniff out a home for any drugs, such as marijuana, heroin, cocaine, or methamphetamines that would not be able to find at an easy glance. The group is charging $200 an hour for their services.
Such a tactic is not unheard of, dogs have always been used to find hidden drugs, but usually only for law enforcement. The main purpose for Dogs finding Drugs, is for parents and employers to find out if one of their own is hiding or using drugs.
Also deviating from police tactics, if drugs are found, it is up to the person who hired the company to decide whether or not they want to call drug enforcement.
